The “tell me about yourself” question is the most common of all. Actually, it is generally the first question that most recruiters are likely to ask during the interview, either medical interview or not. Through this question, potential employers will evaluate you on how well are you in describing yourself. These people also use this strategy question to measure your confidence and communication skills. Here are some tips on how you can answer this question properly.

Don’t put too much detail on your answer. You really don’t have to include your hometown and all of your hobbies – the interviewer will get bored listening to your answer. Instead, only state about your basic information like your name, residence, education, work experiences, and skills.

When answering the “Tell me about yourself” question, you need to sit properly. Don’t slouch; you are not in a living room watching movies.

You should answer the question with confidence and look to the eyes of the interviewer.
